Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Bucharest
Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your centrally located hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of Bucharest known as the Paris of the Balkans. Overnight Hotel Victoria Tower or similar.

Day 2 Bucharest-Tulcea
After breakfast depart Bucharest and drive to Murighiol, crossing the Danube at Giurgeni and continue through the interesting Dobrogea province. Boat transfer to the floating hotel. Dinner and overnight Hotel Delta.

Day 3 Danube Delta Area
Today you will admire the youngest territory in the world (the Danube Delta came into being only 10,000 years ago and is still in the process of formation), its scenic beauty and the wild life here (the Delta is also known as a birdwatcher's paradise), or just relax while sailing through the narrow canals and maybe try some fishing. Lunch is included today. Dinner and overnight Hotel Delta.

Day 4 Tulcea-Besalma-Chisinau
After breakfast cross the Danube by ferryboat at Galati and then drive northwards. Cross the border into Moldova. You will visit the village of Besalma where you will visit the valuable Museum of History and Ethnography featuring an impressive exhibition of the unique Orthodox people of Turkish-Gagauzian origin. Continue to Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, where you will enjoy the wide parks and avenues and variety of architectural styles such as Romanesque, Modern Venetian, Baroque and Neo-Byzantine. The highlights of the tour will be the Victory Arch, Cathedral of the Navity and the Central City Park which is lined with statues and busts of Romanian and Moldavian authors. Dinner and overnight Hotel Leogrand.

Day 5 Chisinau-Orhei-Chisinau
Today you will visit Orheiul Vechi, a historic monastic conservation complex, situated 40 miles from Chisinau. Built on the site of the Moldovan medieval city of Orhei, the only medieval town in the territory. It comprises the landscape conservation Trebujeni and the 19th century Adormirea Maicii Domnului Church. You will enjoy the archaeological traces and interesting historical monuments in a unique landscape formed by the Raut River, narrow paths, rocks and caves. You will see the remains of the Geto-Dacian fortress, a functioning cave monastery, ruins of the old Turkish bath. You will also visit a typical Moldovan house of the 19th century and have a typical Moldovan lunch. Overnight Hotel Leogrand.

Day 6 Chisinau-Iasi-Piatra Neamt
In the morning cross the border and drive to Piatra Neamt via Iasi. In Iasi discover the unique beauty of this old Moldavian town, the former capital of the historical region of Moldova. You will see the Trei Ierarhi Church and architectural jewel, the neo-gothic Palace of Culture and the National Theater. Later arrive to Piatra Neamt. Dinner and overnight Hotel Ceahlau.

Day 7 Piatra Neamt-Painted Monasteries-Piatra Neamt
Today you will be taken on a full day tour of the famous painted monasteries of Bucovina. You will see Humor Monastery with its best preserved interior frescoes, Voronet Monastery, the "Sistine Chapel" of Eastern Europe, famous for its blue color used by the artist as background for its frescoes, Moldovita Monastery and the Sucevita Monastery the best preserved of all with imposing walls and defensive towers. Dinner and overnight Hotel Ceahlau.

Day 8 Piatra Neamt-Sighisoara
In the morning leave behind the enchanting Bucovina county and drive to the legendary Transylvania area known as the "Land beyond the forests," whose cultural heritage has been shaped by a mixture of peoples, Languages, and traditions, Romanian, German and Hungarian. You will drive through the Bicaz Canyon, one of the most spectacular limestone formations in Romania to Lacu Rosu (Red Lake). Continue to Sighisoara, a Saxon medieval fortress, which is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, as the best preserved and continuously inhabited early medieval citadel in Eastern Europe. You will discover the wonderful old town and walk through the old cobbled streets and let yourself get carried away with the medieval spirit of the city. Dinner and overnight Hotel Sighisoara.

Day 9 Sighisoara-Biertan-Sighisoara
This morning on your tour of the city you will visit the Clock Tower Museum and the Torture Room, the Evangelical Church and the Armor Room. You will also visit the house in which Dracula, Vlad the Impaler was born and have a tour of the fortress including the Church on the Hill. Later you will drive to Biertan, a World Cultural Heritage site that hosts the largest wing alter in Romania and was also used for more than 300 years by the Transylvania bishop as his residence. Dinner and overnight Hotel Sighisoara.

Day 10 Sighisoara-Brasov-Bran-Sinaia
This morning depart for Brasov, a fairytale town founded in the 12th century by Saxon settlers. Brasov today still preserves its beautiful medieval atmosphere created by many Middle Age buildings. The highlight of the city tour is a visit to the Gothic Black Church, the largest Gothic style church in South-Eastern Europe. You will also visit the St. Nicolae Church and the first Romanian School. Continue to Bran to visit the famous castle, made famous by Bram Stoker's novel as the residence of the vampire count Dracula. The castle was built by the merchants of Brasov in the 14th century to protect the border between Valahia and Transylvania. In the evening you will arrive to Sinaia, the mountain resort known as the "Pearl of the Carpathians." Dinner and overnight Hotel Palace.

Day 11 Sinaia-Bucharest
After breakfast you will visit the Peles Palace, the former residence of King Carol I of Romania. You will also visit the Sinaia Monastery, a beautiful example of Valahian architecture and the oldest building in Sinaia. Afterwords depart to Bucharest where upon arrival you will be taken on a tour of the city. You will see the House of the People, the second largest building, after the Pentagon and the Village Museum. You will also see the Romanian Atheneum, Opera House, Military Academy and the Triumphal Arch. This evening you will enjoy dinner with a folklore show. Overnight Hotel Victoria Tower in Bucharest.

Day 12 Bucharest-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport. You can extend your stay in Bucharest or continue with a tour to Bulgaria.
