Itinerary

Day 1 Depart New York
Depart New York (JFK or Newark) Dinner and inflight entertainment on board.

Day 2 Arrive Bucharest
Upon arrival in Bucharest you will be met and taken to your centrally located hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of the Romanian capital, known as the "Paris of the Balkins." Overnight Hotel Lido.

Day 3 Bucharest-Cozia Monastery-Sibiu
After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Sibiu in Transylvania. Crossing the Carpathian Mountains through the beautiful Olt River Valley you will see some specacular scenery. On the way you will make a stop at the interesting Cozia Monastery. Built in the 14th century by Dracula's grandfather, Prince Mircea the Old. In Sibiu, once the richest town in Transylvania you will enjoy a city tour that includes visits to the old medieval town and the Brukenthal Art Gallery. In the evening you will drive to the nearby town of Sibiel for a hearty Romanian dinner at a local farm house. Overnight Hotel Imparatul Romanilor in Sibiu.

Day 4 Sibiu-Biertan-Sighisoara
Today you will drive to Sighisoara the best preserved medieval fortified town in Romania. On the way stop in the Saxon village of Biertan where you will visit the imposing fortified church. Upon arrival in Sighisoara you will enjoy a tour of the town that includes the Clock Tower, Arms Gallery and Torture Room. Dinner and overnight at the Sighisoara Hotel.

Day 5 Sighisoara-Brasov-Bran-Sinaia
This morning you will depart for Brasov once a rich merchants town. After a city tour continue to Bran for a visit to the castle, which for centuries guarded the border between Valahia and Transylvania. In the afternoon arrive in Sinaia, a beautiful mountain resort known as the "Pearl of the Carpathians. Dinner with gypsy music at the Hunters Lodge restaurant. Overnight Hotel Sinaia.

Day 6 Sinaia-Peles Palace-Bucharest
After breakfast you will visit the specatcular Peles Palace, the former summer residence of the Romanian royal family. After a guided tour return to Bucharest. Upon arrival you will enjoy a city tour of the Romanian capital that includes the House of the People, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon and the open air Village Museum. During the tour you will also see the Romanian Atheneum, the Opera House, the National Military Club, the Military Academy and the Triumphal Arch. Overnight at the Hotel Lido.

Day 7 Bucharest-Depart
After breakfast at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your connecting flight to New York (JFK or Newark).
