Day 1 Sunday-Bergen
Upon arrival in Bergen the "Gateway to the Fjords" self transfer to your centrally located hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to begin your exploration of this charming harbor town. Dinner and overnight Scandic Hotel Bergen City.
Day 2 Monday-Bergen-Lavik-Skei
After breakfast enjoy a city tour of Bergen. You will visit the famous Fishmarket, the Hanseatic harbor area known as the Bryggen and the home of the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg known as Troldhaugen. Time on your own until your 4.30m coastal voyage through the lovely landscapes along the west coast of Norway to Gulen. This is the beginning of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. Arrvial in Lavik continue with the hotel coach through Vadheim and Forde to Skei located on Lake Jolster. Dinner and overnight Skei Hotlel.
Day 3 Tuesday-Skei-Fjaerland/Glaciers Tour-Skei
Explore the wonderful Lake Jolster area on your full day excursion to Fjaerland. You will be taken on a scenic drive along Lake Jolster, through a 6.350m tunnel and passed the Boyumsdal Glacier to the small rural community of Fjaerland. Visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Continue via the Supphelle Glacier unique for its amazingly low altitude (only 51m above sea level). You will then enjoy afternoon coffee at Boyum Glacier. Dinner and folklore show with music and dancing at the Skei Hotel.
Day 4 Wednesday-Skei-Geiranger-Skei
Today you will experience an incredible journey through the Vatedal Valley, over Utvik Mountain, along the magnificent Nordfjord passing Olden, Loen and Stryn on the way to Hellesylt for your 1 hour cruise along the spectacular Geirangerfjord. You will pass lovely scenery and fantastic waterfalls including the famous "Seven Sisters." Continue to Dalsnibba for fabulous views of the fjord. Proceed back to Skei via Grotli, Hjelle and Lake Oppstryn. Dinner and overnight Skei Hotel.
Day 5 Thursday-Skei-Briksdal-Skei
After breakfast you will be taken to the world famous Briksdal Glacier which is part of Europe's largest glacier, the Jostedalen Glacier. You will also visit the charming village of Olden. Dinner and overnight Skei Hotel.
Day 6 Friday-Skei-Sandane-Skei
Today you will visit the Nordfjord Folk Museum and Sandane. From Skei you will travel to Klakegg, through the scenic Vatedal Valley to Breim and Sandane, past thundering Eidsfossen falls to the Nordfjord Folk Museum and a visit to the old Grimmestad Church dating back to 1692. On the return journey visit Reed for wonderful views of Breim Lake, the Norwegian Horse Center and Byrkelo. After dinner at the Skei Hotel you will enjoy coffee in the Gamlestova, a 300 year old cottage located on the hotel grounds, with Norwegian folk music, local history, tales and ghost stories. Overnight Skei Hotel.
Day 7 Saturday-Skei-Norway in a Nutshell-Oslo
Leave Skei and travel over the Gaular Mountain to Balestrand. Enjoy the famous Norway in a Nutshell excursion which includes a 2 hour cruise on the Sognefjord to Flam. Continue on the famous Flamrailway, one of the world's most exciting rail journeys. Upon arrival in Myrdal you continue by train across, "The roof of Norway," the Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau to Oslo. Please note: escort not provided on train from Flam-Myrdal-Oslo. Upon arrival in Oslo taxi transfer from the station to the hotel is included. Overnight Hotel Continental
Day 8 Sunday-End of Tour
Tour ends after breakfast. You may extend your stay in Oslo or continue to Copenhagen or Stockholm.
