Itinerary

Day 1 Santa Cruz
Arrival in Santa Cruz and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day at leisure.Overnight in Santa Cruz.

Day 2 Santa Cruz-Concepcion
After breakfast pick-up from your hotel and departure from Santa Cruz to the villages of Cotoca, Pailas, Pailon and Los Troncos. Refreshments on the road. Arrival at San Javier, visit to the San Javier Church, the oldest well-founded mission of the Jesuits (1691). After lunch continue to Concepcion, (1,5 hour trip) on route you see the different formats of Granite Rocks in the middle of the palms and Jungle Isles. Arrival in Concepcion. Upon arrival you will visit the ranch where the herons sleep. Return to Concepcion and at night visit the the church. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Concepcion-Santa Cruz
Departure to the famous Santa Teresita Stone 20 minutes from the village where one can overlook the whole Chiquitan Valley. Day time visit of the church of Concepcion the Authentic Jewel of the 18th century and the Missioner Museum where you can observe the different wood sculptures which the Chiquitos made as support of the church. After lunch return to San Javier, we take a short stop to refresh and then carry on to Santa Cruz. Overnight in Santa Cruz.

Day 4 Santa Cruz-Sucre
After breakfast transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Sucre (not included). Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon you will be taken on a city tour that includes Recoleta and the Church of San Francisco, the House of Liberty where Simon Bolivar signed the declaration of independence of Bolivia. Visit the University San Francisco Javier, the second oldest university on the continent and the local market. Overnight in Sucre.

Day 5 Sucre-Potosi
After breakfast drive from Sucre to Potosi. In the afternoon you will be taken on a city tour of Potosi, which is famous for its colonial history and was the source of silver during this time. This tour includes: visit to the cathedral, the church of San Francisco, the convent of Santa where coins for Spain were produced during the colonial era. Potosi was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Overnight in Potosi.

Day 6 Potosi-Uyuni
Overland transfer from Potosi to Uyuni with box lunch en route. Overnight at the Salt Hotel Luna Salada.

Day 7 Uyuni-Salt Lake-Oruro
Full Day visit to the biggest Salt Lake in the world, the Salar de Uyuni. Visits include the salt plant in Colchani, the cold water springs "Ojos de Agua", the Salt Museum and the Isla Pescado with its giant cacti. In the late afternoon return to Uyuni. Day use of hotel and transfer to the train station. Night train Expreso del Sur to Oruro (00:05-07:00)

Day 8 Oruro-La Paz
Upon arrival in Oruro, transfer to the bus station with breakfast. Public bus from Oruro to La Paz (aprox. 3 hrs). After arrival in La Paz transfer to your hotel. The City of La Paz and its surroundings can transport you to a mysterious past where any corner, any street, is a hidden treasure where adventure begins; a living history which treasures the pre Hispanic times with all their traditions and magic rites on its streets. The indigenous, colonial and modern areas, Indian Market, Witch Doctor's Market & breathtaking panoramas are all framed by the majestic "Illimani" mountain. Visit the Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the Moon. Overnight in La Paz.

Day 9 La Paz-Tiwanaku-La Paz
In the morning transfer to the Tiwanaku Ruins (1.580 BC-1.000 AD). The magnificent ruins of Bolivia and one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas. The Sun Gate, the Temple of Kalasasaya and the Pyramid of Akapana are the sample of a glorious past.Tiwanaku culture was an agrarian based economy with an estimated population of 115.000 inhabitants. The state controlled agriculture produced the surplus wealth to support the urban center and administrative system. They were outstanding in agriculture, hydraulic, architecture & medicine, as well as in social organization. Due to an economical crisis caused by a long dry season, Tiwanaku collapsed around 1.000 AD. Overnight in La Paz

Day 10 La Paz-Sun Island
Early in the morning transfer to Huatajata at the shores of Lake Titicaca. Visit to the Altiplano Museum. Hydrofoil cruise to the Moon Island and visit of the Sun Virgins Temple. Continue by hydrofoil to Sun Island. Visit to the Pilcocaina Sun Temple and soft trek to the hotel. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the surroundings.Overnight at the Posada del Inca Eco-Lodge.

Day 11 Sun Island-Huatajata
Morning at leisure. Visit to the original Inca Steps and the Sacred Fountain. Lunch in the special Uma Kollo Restaurant with panoramic views of the Royal Range. Hydrofoil cruise to Copacabana to visit the shrine of the Mamita del Lago. Overland transfer to the Tiquina Strait, crossing and continuation to Huatajata. Upon arrival you visit the Andean Roots Eco Village. Enjoy the night time experiences: Mystical World of the Kallawayas and the Alajpacha Observatory Overnight at the Inca Utama Hotel & Spa.

Day 12 Huatajata-Airport La Paz
Day at leisure until your transfer to the airport in La Paz for you flight home. You can extend your stay in Bolivia or continue to Puno in Peru.

Flight from Santa Cruz currently costs $60 + taxes per person

Please note: during the rainy season November-March the Salt Lake Uyuni may be under water and its visit be restricted or totally impossible.

Airport taxes are not included

For an additional cost tour can end in Puno Peru on last day.
