Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Sofia
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to relax or begin your exploration of the Bulgarian capital. Dinner and overnight Hotel Princess or Hotel Anel or similar.

Day 2 Sofia-Veliko Turnovo
Morning city tour to include the gold domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Crypt, a precious museum of Orthodox art and the 4th century St. George Rotanda. Lunch included. Afternoon continue to Veliko Turnovo. This evening enjoy a sound and light performance (not included. Cost is EURO 15 to be paid on the spot.) Dinner and overnight Grand Hotel Bolyarski or similar.

Day 3 Veliko Turnovo-Arbanassi-Veliko Turnovo
City tour of this ancient Bulgarian capital. Visit the Tsarevets Holy Hill and the Church of St. Peter and Pavel. Afternoon visit the museum village of Arbanassi with the Church of the Nativity and Konstanzaliev House. Lunch included. In the afternoon you will enjoy wine tasting at the Lyaskovets Winery located near Veliko Turnovo. Dinner and overnight Grand Hotel Bolyarski or similar.

Day 4 Veliko Turnovo-Kazanlak-Plovdiv
After breakfast depart for Plovdiv with stops at the Etura open air ethnographic museum, the village of Gabrovo, the spectacular Shipka Pass and Kazanlak where you will have lunch and visit the Rose Museum and the Historical Museum with its rich collection of Thracian treasures en route. Drive through the famous Valley of the Roses to reach Plovdiv. Lunch included. Dinner and overnight Hotel Sankt Peterbourg or similar.

Day 5 Plovdiv
Morning tour of this charming city. Visit the Old Quarter, the Ethnographic Museum, the Church of St. Konstantine and Helena, the Roman Amphitheater, Lamartine's House and the Jumaya Mosque. Lunch included. Afternoon visit to the 11th century Bachkovo Monastery. Dinner and overnight Hotel Sankt Peterbourg or similar.

Day 6 Plovdiv-Borovets-Rila Monastery-Sofia
Moring departure for the 11th century Rila Monastery, one of Europe's oldest and included on UNESCO'S World Heritage List. En route visit the Mountain resort of Borovets. Lunch included. After the Monastery visit continue to Sofia. Dinner and overnight Hotel Princess or Hotel Anel or similar.

Day 7 Sofia
This morning visit the Boyna Church which is located on the outskirts of Sofia. Lunch included. Afternoon at leisure for last minute shopping. Dinner this evening at a Folkstyle Restaurant. Overnight Hotel Princess or Hotel or Hotel Anel or similar.

Day 8 Sofia-End of Tour
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport. You can extend your stay in Sofia or continue to beautiful Romania
